What happens when we allow the natural world to become part of the way we listen, reflect, and make meaning of our lives?
This November, the Retreat House Book Circle will gather around Writing Wild for a morning of thoughtful conversation, reflection, and connection. Our conversation will be led by author, publisher, and compassionate listener Gretchen Martens, offering us the unique opportunity to explore the book alongside its author.
Come having read the book and ready to bring whatever caught your attention—the passages that stayed with you, questions that emerged, places of resonance or resistance, and connections to your own experience.
The Retreat House Book Circle isn't about analyzing a book or arriving at the "right" interpretation. We gather around books because they can open doors into larger conversations about the inner life, the world around us, and the ways we are being invited to pay attention.
Grab a cup of coffee, find a comfortable place, and join the conversation from wherever you are.
About the Retreat House Book Circle
Throughout the year, our Book Circle gathers around writers and ideas that invite curiosity, reflection, and deeper engagement with the inner life and the world we share.
Recent selections have included Mary Oliver; J. Philip Newell's The Great Search; Robin Wall Kimmerer's The Serviceberry; Sharon Blackie's If Women Rose Rooted; Ilia Delio's Not Yet God; and Zoë Schlanger's The Light Eaters.
Whether you've joined us for many of these conversations or this will be your first, you are welcome.
