I’m in an in-between season of my life right now. Maybe you find yourself in one as well.

In the spirituality community, we call this “liminal space,” but the phrase “messy middle” seems to capture best what it feels like to me. I think there is a sacred invitation in these in-between times to a brave vulnerability, allowing ourselves to be in the uncertainty, and unsettled space, trusting that we will one day be to the other side.

I’m grateful that Brave Vulnerability is one of the core values of Retreat House. In this community we know that we don’t have to have it all together, that the unknowing is welcomed, and that we have a place to bring our messy middle to meet the Holy.
